Hogs Happy Hour Update (7/11/11)

Many of you already know that The Box Spring Hogs have hosted a happy hour show at our house on the last Friday of the month for the better part of the last two years.  The shows have been such a success that our house just isn’t able to handle the size of the crowds that have been showing up.  So rather than try to restrict the number of people that we can invite we have decided to move the party to a bigger venue. 

Thanks to our good friend Matt Meshbane we are going to be able to continue to host our happy hour shows just down the street at Jovita’s (1619 South 1st Street).  The shows will generally go from 7:00pm to midnight.   There will still be no cover and we will do some drink specials and of course bring in some great bands.  Also, there will be air conditioning!

During the time that we have been hosting these happy hour shows we have been able to meet and make so many good friends.  We always look forward to seeing everybody each month so we are really happy that we can keep this thing going as well as keep the South Austin neighborhood atmosphere alive thanks to Jovita’s. 


One note about the show coming up on Friday, July 29:

A touring band had already been booked at Jovita’s for July so we will be starting and ending a bit earlier than usual.  Here is the line up:

6:30:    The Yarmigos
7:30:    The Box Spring Hogs
8:30:    Amplified Heat
10:00:  Cari Hutson & Good Company (touring band)

There will be no cover before 8:00pm, $5.00 after 8:00pm for Cari Hutson.  This is a one time thing. There will be no cover for the entire evening for all future months.
